We’re launching a new fundraiser! Donate today and receive a limited edition library card with an image of the historic Lunenburg Academy. These truly are limited edition – one of a kind, no more will be printed!

In addition to the limited edition card, we’re offering the opportunity to have a bookplate recognizing your contribution to your library community inside the front cover of a new book in our collection. If you wish to commemorate the bookplate, you may do so while completing your donation.

Donate $10 and you’ll receive one limited edition card.
Donate $50 and you’ll receive one bookplate and a card.
Donate $100 and you’ll receive two bookplates and a card.

When you donate online, we’ll mail you a limited-edition card and note of heartfelt thanks. You’ll have to activate your new card at any of our libraries before you can use it.

As always, donations made to South Shore Public Libraries are tax-refundable, as we are a registered charitable organization. Our partner, CanadaHelps, processes payments and automatically generates a tax receipt for you when you finish your online donation.

If you’d rather donate in-person, you can do so at any of our libraries. We’ll be sure to take down your information and issue a tax receipt then as well.

You can use this card to replace a well-loved library card, or if you choose, keep it as a commemoration to our new library location.

We graciously accept donations of books and materials at South Shore Public Libraries. Items in our collection get a lot of love, so donated items need to be in excellent condition! However, we are unable to use some items. To learn more about donating books, please call 902-543-2548.

Materials we cannot use may be sent to our partner Better World Books (BWB). We receive money from BWB and use that to purchase more new books. BWB uses a portion of their net proceeds to support literacy initiatives and libraries internationally. Learn more about BWB.

If you wish to provide a general donation aside from our current Lunenburg Library campaign, you can visit our CanadaHelps and select General.

There, you can make a donation in memory, in honour, or to commemorate a special occasion. We appreciate your support!
