Interlibrary Loans & "Borrow Anywhere/Return Anywhere" Project (BARA)
If you are unable to locate a particular book at any location of South Shore Public Libraries, ask staff to request it for you through Interlibrary Loan services. Staff will locate the book from another public library system or university library in Nova Scotia, Canada or beyond. If requesting online, please include your email address.
There is an overdue charge of 50¢ per day for interlibrary loan materials, with no maximum. Renewals are often possible — please request renewals at least one week before the current due date by calling your local Library or the Interlibrary Loan Department at 543-2548. Whole issues of magazines cannot be requested on interlibrary loan (other libraries will not send them), however patrons may ask for photocopies of specific articles.
There may be charges associated will all interlibrary loans. Library staff will advise you of these charges before requesting the item from the lending library.
